Meet Virginia

Okay, so I don't match the lyrics to that song, not even slightly. I don't smoke a pack of cigarettes a day- I've actually never had one in my life. Fooling people to hand their hard earned money to you like conditioning the masses to crave their product!! It's both selfish and corrupt.

So what makes me bring up this old 90s tune? well. I am quite literally meeting Virginia, the border- not the girl. I hit the road last night, loosely planned as always. And this. THIS is my online journal, my blog, my virtual diary that I am opening to my friends and family so you all can keep up with me, creep, as I do more of this thing I love to do: Travel!!

so I have this blue cup. Joe.

This cup is my ABSOLUTE favorite cup. The size alone is fitting for any regular bold, black coffee drinker. Coffee isn't the only lucky use for it. Grapes, soup, place to contain pumpkin seeds, the list goes on... Didn't think there was a preference in crockery did you.. I admit it's an unusual attachment and loving to know this soup bowl-shaped cup is always in my car or in my hand sounds odd, but those of you who know me, should know I don't get too attached to much, so a traveling blue cup will do.

This morning, I woke up from a strange dream about getting lost in europe. I stretched a little then walked over to grab that continental breakfast only the cheap hotels provide. You know, the kind we all love, the kind without the milk for the cereal, nothing cooked, and only one or two options for pastries- MmmmmM. I grabbed an apple, toasted a slice of bread, and had a bagel as small as the size of my heel. Great comparison I KNOW! But i wanted you to understand how tiny the bagel was.. gah.

I walked back over to my room, fixed a cup of joe as I began to write. this. down. Okay! all caught up.

Anything else for day 1: I watched an exceptionally beautiful sunset on the ride here in the Tennessee Valley. Check-out is at noon and it's a quarter till 10.

Next stop: Abingdon. A historic little town.
